LFHS Alumni Network and SMA Alumni Association join forces to build community

THE LITTLE FALLS ALUMNI NETWORK would like to welcome alumni of St. Mary’s Academy to join those of Little Falls High School by registering at: www.lfhsalumni.org. 

The community of Little Falls is small enough that it is often a practice for class reunions to include both LFHS and SMA alumni. 

As a result, and in light of the goal of the Little Falls Alumni Network to become an instrumental communications vehicle for current and former residents of Little Falls, inviting members of St. Mary’s Academy will hopefully help to reach its objective of bringing together a meaningful alumni network to benefit both the community and individual graduates. 

In early 2005, the idea of reactivating the former SMA Alumni Association was conceived.  The last formal SMA gathering was held in 1970 with the closing of the St. Mary’s Academy High School.  The grammar school closed in 1988.  Hours upon hours have been spent by many alumni to locate graduates as well as those who attended SMA.  The alumni database now contains the names and addresses of over 1400 including the names of deceased as well as those unable to be located.

“The SMA Alumni Committee welcomes the invitation to be part of the Little Falls High School Alumni Network,” said Eileen Bennett, SMA Alumni Committee member,  “And all of the information about the LFHS Alumni Website will be made available during the SMA Alumni Gala weekend, 9/30-10/1, entitled, Coming Home.” 

For SMA alum to register, simply visit the website and click, “Alumni Registration.”  It is important to note your status as a St. Mary’s alum in the “Personal Notes” section of the online registration form.

Since the official launch of the website on June 3, 2006, there has been over a 25% increase in registered alumni and with the inclusion of SMA, numbers will continue to grow.
