On Canal Days weekend 2016, the Class of 1961 celebrated their 55 Year Reunion.  The weekend began on Friday, August 12th with an informal gathering at Joe DeLorenzo’s home on Friday night with 21 classmates and spouses attending from both schools.

The main event followed on Saturday, August 13th at 6 PM at Ruggiero’s Trattoria where Kandyland use to be located.  The class was fortunate enough to have 37 classmates and spouses gathering at the new addition to the Trattoria.  Cocktails were served at 6 PM, dinner at 7 PM and there was much to catch up on between classmates in between.  As no one could do it better, Joe DeLorenzo served as the master of ceremonies–though he called upon several classmates to talk about a variety of subjects.

Attendees traveled from as far away as Washington, New Mexico, Arizona, Michigan, Florida and several adjacent states to New York.   The party continued late into the evening as there were so many memories to be shared.

The Class is very much looking forward to their 60th reunion, but may celebrate the intervening years as well on an informal basis…something they have done since our 40th reunion!

If you were a part of a reunion that took place this year, we welcome your submission of photos and/or a recap of the event to AlumniLFHS@gmail.com.
