Jack Duffy – Class of 1948 – Takes Gold in Gulf Coast Senior Games

In April 2011, Jack Duffy, Little Falls High School Class of 1948, won 4 gold metals swimming in the Mississippi Gulf Coast Senior Games in Biloxi, MS (http://www.gulfcoastseniorgames.org/Schedule.html).
Jack’s success in the games continues the competition he started at Union College, interrupted by raising a family. In 1964, he joined a Connecticut Masters Team and in 1987 swam in the 1st National Senior Olympics in St. Louis.
Competing in the 80-84 age group this year, Jack finished first in the 100 yd. backstroke with a time of 2:10. Additionally, he took gold in the 200 yd. backstroke, 200 yd. free and the 500 yd. free with a time of 11:05, slightly more than double his Union College record set in 1952.
