The Little Falls Cheese Festival, presented by Main St. First, will fill the West Main Street area of downtown this Sat. July 11th from 11am to 6pm.  Admission and parking are free.

You will have an unusual opportunity to sample and buy all different kinds of New York State sheep, cow, & goat cheeses, including St. Johnsville, a Loire Valley style aged goat cheese; Cascadita, a Spanish style goat cheese named for Little Falls; two award-winning cheeses, Jersey Girl and Toma Celena, that were on the 2013 Presidential Inauguration Luncheon menu; and a variety of New York State Cheddars, Gouda, Jarlsberg, Emmental, Feta, and more!

In addition the Festival will offer related products, including yogurt, farm butter, gourmet chocolates, artisanal breads, jams, spreads, mustards, flavored vinegars, glavored honey, handcrafted cutting & serving boards, screen-printed tea towels and much more.

Local restaurants will also get into the swing of things, offering numerous cheese inspired appetizers, mini calzones, cheeseburgers made with local cheeses, all sorts of different grilled cheese sandwiches, homemade mac & cheese, pizza, and cheesecakes.  For more details, go to the website below and click on the stay awhile tab.

Entertainment will include live music by CleenStreet & the Dharma Bums String Band and a short play presented by Little Falls Theater Company (LiFT) titled “Where’s the Cheese?”  Handouts about Little Falls’ cheese history will be available and will include a self-guided tour.
