There are some towns in Upstate New York that I’ll go out of my way to visit for no other reason than to wander around aimlessly. Restaurants, shops – I could care less. I just want to soak in the town itself. The beautiful homes, the elegant municipal buildings, the ancient waterways, the random rusting water towers. That’s what living Upstate is all about – and Little Falls is a perfect example.

I’d probably passed the Little Falls exit on I-90 a million times in my life – ever since I was a kid going to visit my grandparents in Amsterdam. A couple years ago, on my way to visit my parents in Rochester, I decided to get off and have a look around. And this is what I found…
