Privacy Policy

Little Falls High School Alumni Network (LFHS AN) is an entirely volunteer based organization whose mission is to serve the interests of Little Falls High School alumni, the Little Falls City School District, and the local community through the operation of the LFHSalumni.org website.

Our organization is supported through voluntary contributions made by our members to the Little Falls Youth and Family Center, a 501(c)3 non profit organization that supports LFHS AN and many other community organizations in Little Falls and the Mohawk Valley.

In order to facilitate development of relationships among and between LFHS alumni and the Little Falls community, we may request personal information about you as indicated in this policy.

While we may request personal information, you are under no obligation to provide any information we request. If you decline to provide requested information we may not be able to give you access to the personal information provided by other alumni, or participate in certain portions of our web site that are for use by registered members only.

It is important to recognize that LFHS AN is committed to protecting personal information to the best of our ability. In addition, it is our intent to comply with any state and federal laws which might apply with regards to volunteer based community organizations such as ours.

1. Information that we collect

We collect nonpublic information about you from the following sources:

information we receive from you on applications, other forms and e-mail;
information you input on our web site
information provided by your Class Registrar who may be compiling and maintaining your Class Directory

Typically, this non public information includes your name, class year, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address and personal summary that you provide.

As indicated in the instructions when you register on our site, you retain the option of deciding under what circumstances these pieces of non public information might be disclosed.

On occasion, information concerning class reunions, community or other events may mention your name and possibly contain photos. Such summaries and photos will typically be gathered and reviewed by your Class Registrar prior to posting on the LFHS Alumni site.

Unless it is stated otherwise in this policy or an amended Privacy Policy Notice, no additional information will be collected from you.

2. Our practices regarding information confidentiality and security.

We restrict access to nonpublic information about you to those Alumni and Reunion Coordinators who need to know that information in order to further the goals of LFHS AN.

While we seek to maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to secure the confidentiality of all information provided to us, we cannot guarantee with 100% certainty that these safeguards will never be breached. Your best option to insure absolute security of your non public information is to decline to provide the information you are concerned about. Recognize, however, that your choice to decline providing certain requested information may cause us not to be able to allow you access to similar personal information of other alumni or participate in certain portions of our web site that are for use by registered members only.

If you choose to post on our interactive site sections, you grant us a license to reproduce any comments, photos, or videos that you submit on our site according to our Terms and Conditions of Use. Information that you post in the interactive areas (both public and registered user restricted areas of the site) can be read by other users of this web site. We are not responsible for any personally identifiable information you choose to submit in making such postings on our site.

3. What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in the following ways:

To personalize your experience
(your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs)
To improve our website
(we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you)
To improve your ability to connect with other LFHS Alumni registered on this site.
Your information helps LFHS AN to build community by fostering the development of relationships among and between alumni and the local community.
To process transactions
Should you use our site (including related event registration or commercial sites to participate in a LFHS AN reunion or other event) the non public information you provide will be subject to the terms and conditions of our registration or transaction partner platforms, including the processing of credit card payments.
To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature
To send periodic emails
The email address you provide for registering or order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your membership or order, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.
As required by law
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site.

4. How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information. While an effort is made to keep all user submitted data that is not for public display, such as email addresses and passwords, secure, we cannot guarantee its security.

5. Do we use cookies?

Yes. We use cookies to understand and save your preferences for future visits, keep track of postings and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

6. Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

Other than to your Class Registrar (or designated Reunion Coordinators and LFHS AN volunteers), we do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to other persons or organizations except as you have authorized for disclosure on our registration form.

On occasion, we may assist the Little Falls City School District or Little Falls Community Chest by identifying individual Alumni that may help further LFHS and/or Community Chest goals.

No other disclosures of your personal information will be made to any other parties.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information without your consent. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

Any suspected fraudulent, abusive or illegal activity may be grounds for terminating your relationship and may be referred to appropriate law enforcement authorities.

Upon termination or suspension, regardless of the reasons therefore, your right to use the services available on this site immediately ceases, and you acknowledge and agree that we may immediately deactivate or delete your account and all related information and files in your account and/or bar any further access to such files or this site. You accept that, as a limited liability entity, LFHSalumni.org has an interest in limiting the personal liability of its volunteers as well as our affiliated sponsor organization the Little Falls Youth and Family Center and their employees and officers. You agree that you will not bring any claim, in respect to any losses you suffer in connection with this website, personally against the LFHS AN volunteers or the employees and officers of the Little Falls Youth and Family Center.

Without prejudice to the foregoing paragraph, you agree that the limitations of warranties and liability set out in this website disclaimer will protect LFHSalumni.org’s volunteers and employees, and officers of the Little Falls Youth and Family Center as well as both organization’s agents, subsidiaries, and sub-contractors.
