65 Years After Original Opening, the Francis S. Skinner Municipal Pool Slated to Open Again
On August 9, 1961, the following photo was published in the Little Falls Evening Times depicting the opening day afternoon crown taxing facilities at the new Little Falls Francis S. Skinner Municipal Pool.
Day 1 was a big splash with about 400 swimmers, mostly children, on hand for the first dip.

While you may continue to make donations for necessary capital improvements here, it is with great enthusiasm we share that thanks in large part to the generous fundraising support of the LFHS Alumni Network, according to the June 2, 2026 Common Council Notes, the Francis S. Skinner Municipal Pool is on schedule for a tentative June 15 opening this summer, 65 years later.
Please stayed tuned for further updates and thank you to all those of you who helped to make this possible for the children of Little Falls.
