Eighteen members of the LFHS Class of 1964 met at Acacia Village, a part of Masonic Care Community in Utica, on Saturday, September 12, for a rather raucous 80th Birthday Celebration. This is the first gathering we’ve held in the afternoon, but it was agreed that at this age driving after dark is not the best option.  The sunny day, brilliant smiles and high level of conversation and laughter were indicative of the enjoyment the class members and 8 spouses felt. The class members voted unanimously that we should celebrate every two years—at least, we should rescind the comment that this was our last gathering. So, watch your mailboxes in 2028.

We sorely missed those who could not be in attendance. Alan Vincent, who lives at Acacia Village and made the arrangements for the brunch and the pre-event cocktail party he sponsored, also quizzed on some class trivia.  Martha Osley Lee read the necrology adding the three people who passed just this year. Veronica Richardson Bannon lead the singing of “Happy Birthday” (mostly on key), Richard Schmidt supplied the table flower arrangements, Patty Nobile Castellano and Joanna Palkowski Macri supplied the birthday cake, and she along with Lynn Schrader Snyder and Alan organized the bash. Thank you to all who attended and all who helped make this party successful.

Class members in attendance were Jack Agati,  Veronica (Richardson) Bannon, Dave and Ronnie (Petlin) Baum, Joe Brin, Patty (Nobile) Castellano, Mena (Lamana) Cerone, Bonnie (Sciortino) Frederick, Joella (Frazier) Hood, Don and Martha (Osley) Lee, Donna (Markwardt) Lipke-Miller, Joanna (Palkowski) Macri, Bob Mocko, Bev (Reno) Schmidt, Lynn (Schrader) Snyder, Alan Vincent and Mary Alice (aka Mitzi) Yerina.
