Why We Are Fundraising

Since 1912, our library has provided the local community with programming events, circulating materials, and public meeting spaces, all free of charge. We strive to create a place that is open and free for all, but for us to continue our mission, we need to continually fundraise.

Our Mission Statement

The purpose of the Library is to offer the citizens of Little Falls access to information, free of cost and without bias. We aim to become an integral part of our community by promoting lifelong learning and creativity, and by providing a warm and welcoming place to interact.

Our History

Since our formal establishment in 1912 at our Waverly Place location, the Little Falls Public Library has been committed to providing our local community with the best services imaginable. Starting with our first librarian, Mabel Richards, our library began looking outward to the community for ways in which to provide the best services that were considered to be of importance. From there, our library grew in size and support, with the addition of two new spaces and an elevator in the 1980s. Since then, we have completed additional internal renovations, to include the addition of the Theresa Carrig Children’s Center in 2020.

With such a strong history of updating our facilities to provide additional resources and spaces to the community, we look toward our next projects with the same optimism as our original Board of Trustees and librarian. Our foundation is rooted in the community, both literally and figuratively. We have relied on our community to help us as much as we help them. With your contribution, we can continue to develop our space, and make our library and its grounds a place where anyone can feel welcome.
