LF Municipal Pool Fund Raising Update

We are excited to share a strong update with our community.

To date, $74,593 has been raised to support the opening of the Frances Skinner Municipal Pool for the 2026 season. In addition, we are actively working to secure a $25,000 grant that would bring us within reach of our goal.

We will get there.

We also want to acknowledge that there are questions circulating about the pool opening, and we want to address that directly.

Regardless of what may be rumored, Next is operating under the direct guidance of Mayor Deborah Kauffman. I have personally spoken with the Mayor, and we have been asked to continue leading this effort to close the remaining funding gap so the City is positioned to move forward. She has also made it clear that every possible effort will be made to open the pool.

The one factor that remains outside of anyone’s control is the final approval process through the New York State Department of Health. Like any public facility, the pool must pass inspection in order to open. That is a requirement we fully respect and support.

What we can control is making sure the funding is in place.

Disclaimer: Funds raised are restricted to supporting 2026 pool operations, maintenance, and necessary repairs. In the event the pool is unable to open due to Department of Health requirements, funds may be applied toward repairs needed to bring the facility into compliance.
